The Mission Director of a team of sugar growing experts from India, who have just returned from a fact finding mission to Fiji, says the sugar industry there does have a future.

The team was invited to Fiji to find ways to rescue the country's ailing industry.

Mission Director, Jeewan Bhagat, says Fiji's growers were enthusiastic about their suggestions which included planting more cane and following practices that will improve the yield.

Mr Bhagat says it is to present its report to the Fijian government in 3 weeks time.
