Auckland Theatre Company is seeking $1 million from the public for a new waterfront venue.
It wants to build a 600 seat theatre and 200 seat auditorium at Wynyard Quarter.
Just over half the funding for the $41 million project is already in place. But $18.5 million remains outstanding and Auckland Council has set a deadline of May.
