A child has died after being hit by a car in a driveway in Kaitaia.
The Police and the Ambulance Service were called to Jamieson Road just after 5.30pm on Friday.
The Ambulance Service says the boy, aged one, was dead when they arrived.
Inspector Ben Offner says the death is very tragic.
He says people should be very careful when driving cars around young children.
