Thousands of 'Hobbit' hopefuls turned out to a casting session for Peter Jackson's movie in Hutt at the weekend.
But for many, it was a wasted journey as the production company was overwhelmed by the numbers and closed the session early.
About 3000 people turned out for the casting, but only about 800 were seen because of the numbers.
The casting caused a back-log of traffic and some trouble on State Highway Two.
