A 21-year-old man will appear in the Hamilton District Court on Monday morning charged with the murder of Serenity Jay Scott-Dinnington.
The six-month-old died in Starship Hospital last April after she was admitted with traumatic injuries.
The police are crediting the tenacity of the investigating team and support from the Ngaruawahia community and local agencies for Sunday's arrest.
Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Greene says although there had been an arrest, the investigations will continue.
