A dog that attacked a Porirua toddler at the weekend has been put down.
The toddler has been discharged from Hutt Hospital after extensive surgery on her face.
Police say the pitbull staffordshire cross belonged to the girl's family and was destroyed with their permission.
No charges will be laid over the incident.
