Name suppression has been continued for a man accused of murdering a Radio New Zealand journalist.

Phillip Cottrell, 43, died after being assaulted on a street in Wellington after leaving work at about 5.30am last Saturday.

Nicho Waipuka, 19, and a younger man who has name suppression, have been charged with his murder.

The latter, aged 17, reappeared in Wellington District Court on Friday.

Judge David McKegg remanded him in custody to reappear next Thursday and continued name suppression until then.

The other accused will reappear in court next Wednesday.
