EQC announced details of nepotism inquiry

8:51 pm on 14 December 2011

The Earthquake Commission has announced details of an inquiry into accusations of nepotism within its ranks.

EQC chief executive Ian Simpson says a review of its recruitment process for next year will be conducted by KSJ Associates, human resources consultancy in Wellington.

Mr Simpson says the review was discussed with the Treasury and the State Services Commission and both were satisfied with the decision.

He says KSJ Associates will report their findings directly to the Earthquake Commission's board to ensure transparency. The deadline is the end of January.
