Police in Christchurch investigating the disappearance of a teenage boy have completed the first stage of a forensic examination at the property where he was last seen.
Hayden Miles, 16, has not been in contact with his family since 22 August.
Detective Senior Sergeant Tony Hill says he believes an incident took place at the house, in the suburb of Linwood, on the night he disappeared.
But Mr Hill won't speculate as to what that might involve.
A spokesperson says Environmental, Science & Research (ESR) scientists and police staff have completed their forensic examination outside the property.
The examination is now focusing inside the house.
