A fight on a fishing vessel off the coast of Tauranga caused a callout of the armed offenders squad on Tuesday morning.
Police say they received a report of a serious fight aboard the ship just after 3am, but are not able to confirm any details so far.
Armed police were deployed to the port to arrest a man when the vessel came to shore.
Inspector Karl Wright-Sinclair says he has been charged with breach of bail.
