The fire service says it has left a scrub fire north of Whangarei to burn out.
Fire crews responded to the fire in Helena Bay on Saturday afternoon but it turned out to be a controlled burn.
The service also attended a fire in a tree in the northwestern Auckland suburb of Whenuapai.
