A man is in intensive care after jumping off a Waikato bridge while fleeing police.
Officers were following the man on foot about 2am on Monday when he leapt from the bridge in Morrinsville, dropping about 20 metres.
He was taken to Waikato Hospital in a critical condition.
Police allege the man had earlier fled officers attempting to pull him over for speeding through an intersection with no lights.
They believe his vehicle was the same one seen earlier racing without lights on.
