New Zealand shot put champion Valerie Adams is "over the moon" with her victory at the world athletics championships in South Korea - her third straight win in the event.
Adams won with a huge final round throw of 21.24 metres, equalling the world championship record and smashing her personal best and New Zealand record.
Her great rival, Nadzeya Ostapchuk from Belarus, was more than a metre behind in second.
Afterwards, Adams said she couldn't be happier that all the hard work and time away from her family had been worth it.
At the end of the second round, Adams had been sitting in sixth place.
Her third round throw of 20.04 took her into the lead and she further extended the lead with a 20.72m throw in round four.
Going into the final round with a big lead, she was the final competitor and without the pressure of the early rounds, unleashed the massive put of 21.24 metres, equaling the championship record set by Natalia Lisovskaya of the Soviet Union in 1987.
Adams becomes only the fifth woman to win three world championship titles.
