The Commerce Commission says 11 premises in Rotorua and Auckland have been searched as part of an investigation into the tourism souvenir sector.
Search warrants were executed on the premises, mostly in Rotorua, after information was received regarding products being sold as made in New Zealand when they were actually imported.
The commission says it gathered a large amount of information and is considering action under the Fair Trading Act.
The searches involved police, Customs, Immigration and the Wildlife Enforcement Group.
