A search for a kayaker missing in Wellington harbour for more than a week has been called off.
Acting Sergeant Anthony Harmer says the search was called off after the Police National Dive Squad, the Wellington police launch, and Navy officers equipped with sonar equipment carried out a further unsuccessful search for the 19-year-old on Tuesday.
The missing man, Cameron Millar, was last seen by a companion near Ward island on 10 August.
