Tua loses on points decision to Barrett

Heavyweight boxer David Tua says his career isn't over despite losing to American veteran Monte Barrett by a unanimous points decision in their rematch in Manukau.

Tua knocked down Barret less than a minute before the end of the final round.

The judges decided, however, that the Samoan-born New Zealander was outboxed earlier in the fight.

David Tua says he has no plans to retire just yet. "I don't think it'll harm anything to be honest, we'll have to go back to the gym and see what we can do from here," he said.

"It's a passion that still burns from within and it's something that I have to live with."
