Auckland Council says its multi-million dollar Rugby World Cup clean-up is almost complete.
In preparation for the event, many of the city's parks have had new turf and facilities, roading projects have been brought forward, graffiti has been cleaned up and the waterfront has had a major development.
As a result, much of the city has been like a construction zone, with roadworks being finished off and streets being waterblasted clean.
The final touches are now being put in place, with many of the jobs being completed in time for Saturday's Bledisloe Cup - considered a test event for the international tournament.
One of the major projects - the waterfront development - opens on Saturday.
The chair of the council's Rugby World Cup steering group, Rachel Dacy, says all the work would have been done anyway but the pace was lifted for the Cup. She says the legacy will be a better looking city.
