Yemen has expelled a New Zealand journalist who entered the country clandestinely on a ship carrying Somali refugees.
Glen Johnson had reportedly followed refugees headed to Yemen from Djibouti, pursuing a report on child trafficking.
He was flown to Dubai on Wednesday, his father Mike Johnson has written in a post on a Facebook group devoted to securing his son's release.
Mr Johnson was detained in the southern province of Lahej for more than a week.
Mass protests against the government in Yemen are now in their sixth month.
