Tongan monarch begins New Zealand visit

The King of Tonga begins a five-day visit to New Zealand on Saturday.

He will be officially welcomed at a ceremony at Government House in Wellington on Tuesday.

His other engagements include a visit to Linton military camp, a wreath-laying ceremony at the National War Memorial in Buckle St, Wellington, and a state dinner, also at Government House.

He will also call on Prime Minister John Key and Opposition Leader Phil Goff.
