Police search for knives in homicide investigation

7:07 am on 24 June 2011

Wellington police are searching for three knives as part of their homicide investigation into the stabbing of a death metal singer.

Matthew Hall, 35, was killed at his home in the suburb of Johnsonville in February.

The knives being sought were owned by Timothy Parlane, who was interviewed by the police in March. He died the next day when he was hit by a train.

Police say they are aware that Mr Parlane owned four knives, three of which were purchased over the internet in 2004.

They have found one knife but are appealing for information about the others.

Two of them feature in photographs taken in August last year of Mr Parlane's death metal band, Bullet Belt.
