Police have released the name of a man whose body was found in a burnt out car near Levin.
The body of Dick Illya Tikirau Pere, 43, from Palmerston North was found in a car in Waitarere Beach Forest on 4 May.
Police are treating the death as unexplained.
They are dropping leaflets with a picture of a silver Daewoo Nubira, similar to the one in which Mr Pere was found, in the Waitarere community.
Police want to hear from anyone who saw the car between 1am and 7.20am on 4 May.
