New Zealand cricket vice-captain Ross Taylor says the side genuinely believe they can make the World Cup final.

After producing one of the best fielding performances of the tournament to beat South Africa on Friday, the Black Caps' confidence is growing

ahead of their semifinal against Sri Lanka in Colombo in Colombo on Tuesday.

Taylor says most of the time New Zealand play they are the underdogs, and it is something they almost enjoy.

He says some teams probably take them lightly, but the Black Caps know it is going to be tough against Sri Lanka.

New Zealand lost to Sri Lanka by 112 runs in their pool match, but Taylor believes having already played them will help, as they made many mistakes and know what to work on.

India play Pakistan in the second semifinal in Mohali on Wednesday.
