A Northland man has been charged with murder following the discovery of a body on a walking track near Whangaroa Harbour.
The man is accused of killing Jack John Davis, of Auckland, whose body was found on the Lane Cove track last Friday.
The accused has been in custody since last week on charges of kidnapping and fighting.
In Kaikohe District Court on Thursday, police laid the charge of murder.
The man was remanded in custody and granted interim name suppression.
