5:51 pm on 21 February 2011

Police are appealing to the public for more help to establish who viciously attacked and killed a Wellington man.

Matthew John Hall, 35, was found dead in his bed in the suburb of Johnsonville by his flatmate about 6.15pm last Thursday. He had been stabbed.

Police say they need more information about Mr Hall's whereabouts on 14 February.

They have released images of a blue 2002 Toyota Corolla, similar to Mr Hall's, and are urging anyone to come forward.

Police say they are in regular contact with Mr Hall's flatmate, who was the last person to see him on Monday.

They would like to hear from anyone who saw a person or people entering or leaving 118 Broderick Road in Johnsonville between 12pm on Monday and 6pm on Tuesday.

A funeral service for Mr Hall will be held on Tuesday.
