Campaigners against Brazilian energy company Petrobras drilling offshore north of East Cape say they will continue to organise education forums to drum up more support.
About 45 people attended a public forum on Friday night organised by the Ahi Ka Action Group in Gisborne.
A member of the group, Gisborne district councillor Manu Caddie, says there was a lot of anger at the meeting, which was attended by a representative of the Petroleum Exploration and Production Association.
Mr Caddie says the group will seek support from experts in the field.
