Three big voyaging waka could sail into Waitangi together this weekend.
Te Tai Tokerau waka tohunga Hekenukumai Busby says a new twin-hulled waka built in Wellington is on its way up the east coast to Auckland.
It will join two others, including the first voyaging waka he built, Te Aurere, and they will sail to Waitangi in convoy.
Mr Busby says he expects about 15 waka at Waitangi this weekend as the country marks the anniversary of the signing of the Treaty in 1840.
