The search for a man who went missing near Beaumont in Otago has been widened.
Paul Wilson, 28, a civil engineer from Roxburgh, has not been seen since Wednesday afternoon.
Mr Wilson was working for a company which collects water samples and police believe he may have fallen into the Talla Burn Stream which runs into the Clutha River.
Police have extended the search area to about 80km and conducted a four-hour aerial search on Friday morning.
A jet boat and the police dive squad are also searching for him.
