Statistics New Zealand says tourism numbers improved in 2010, compared to the year before.
Figures issued on Friday show visitor arrivals were up 1% in December on December 2009, with more than 345,000 more tourists last year.
They show more visitors arrived from Australia and China. But fewer arrived from Britain and the United States.
Meanwhile, New Zealanders went on 12% more overseas trips last year than in 2009.
