New Zealand educators hope to attract more students from Chile, Colombia and Indonesia in the next five years.
The export education body, Education New Zealand, has added the three countries to its list of markets where New Zealand will be most strongly promoted.
They join countries such as China, South Korea, Vietnam and Thailand in the top priority group for its overseas marketing.
It says the countries have good growth prospects, with a growing middle class, improving economies and high demand for education.
India, Germany, Brazil and Malaysia are also priority markets.
