First Maori on Broadcasting Standards Authority

A Ngati Porou lawyer, Te Rau Kupenga, has become the first Maori to be appointed to the Broadcasting Standards Authority.

The first Maori to join the Crown entity, he replaces Tapu Misa.

Mr Kupenga, who hosts Maori Television's Maorioke music quest and is a regular men's panel guest on TVNZ's Good Morning show, told Waatea News he's looking forward to the role.

He replaces newspaper columnist Tapu Misa.
