A man is in critical condition after being stabbed at his home in the King Country town of Taumarunui.
The Westpac Waikato Air Ambulance service says the 42-year-old was stabbed several times, in his chest and abdomen, about midnight on Wednesday.
The service flew emergency medical staff to Taumarunui Hospital to treat the man, before taking him to Waikato Hospital.
A man has been arrested and police say he was to appear in court on Thursday.
