Wellington City Council says it is concerned and upset to hear of another accident involving a bus and a pedestrian on a newly revamped inner city route.
The council has removed a long-established pedestrian mall in central Wellington and redirected traffic on several adjacent streets in a bid to make public transport more efficient.
Three pedestrians have been hit since buses began using Manners mall on Sunday. The latest, a woman in her 20s, was seriously hurt on Thursday evening.
The council says it will speak to the police and the bus company to find ways of stopping these accidents happening.
It says it has erected signs and employed people to warn pedestrians to take care and will now consider increasing this education campaign.

Mayor Celia Wade-Brown urges pedestrians to look out for one another and be extra vigilant.
She says the changed route means pedestrians must ensure they look both ways and not follow old habits.
Ms Wade Brown says buses have been going more slowly along the new route.
The Wellington Tramways Union says it is certain the pedestrians were at fault.
Secretary Kevin O'Sullivan says he has told bus drivers to proceed with caution.
