A Northland man has been arrested for family violence that police say has lasted 22 years.
The 50-year-old from Kaitaia will appear in court on Friday to face 54 charges, including assault, sexual offences, arson and fraud.
Police say the arrest comes after an inquiry by 10 detectives over the past few days.
