Police progress slow on gang shootings

9:30 pm on 8 November 2010

Police investigating the most recent gang-related shootings in Wairoa, in northern Hawke's Bay, say they are making slow progress as they try to catch the offenders.

A CIB spokesperson says they are still talking to people of interest and are hoping for more information.

He says the car used by the gunman in the service station forecourt shooting 10 days ago has been examined, but yielded nothing that helps with the inquiry.

Meanwhile, the 48-year-old Mongrel Mob member shot in that incident has been moved to Hutt Hospital where he is to have further surgery.

The Black Power associate shot nearly two weeks ago was discharged from Hawke's Bay hospital last week.
