The police in South Auckland have charged a third man with fraud, as their investigation into local body electoral irregularities continues.

They have been investigating voter irregularities and forged election papers after a complaint was laid by the Electoral Enrolment Centre last month.

The latest arrest comes a week after two other men, one of whom was the Labour Party candidate for the Otara Papatoetoe Board, Daljit Singh, were charged with forgery.

The 48-year-old man arrested on Tuesday will appear in the Manukau District Court on Friday.
