Green Acres fraud victim still struggling

A man who lost money in the Green Acres franchise fraud says he is still struggling to piece his life back together.

Keith Lapham of Auckland on Thursday admitted three charges brought by Serious Fraud Office.

Investigators say Lapham, a former Green Acres contractor, obtained more than $3.5 million by deceit when he sold sub-franchises to unsuspecting buyers.

But he disputes the amount of money involved and another hearing is scheduled.

One of the more than 170 people scammed, Ketan Trivedi, says he lost $14,000.

He's still repaying a bank loan with no income to fund the weekly $120 payments.

Mr Trivedi says Lapham's guilty plea makes little difference to his situation.
