Appeals possible against TV programme rulings

Television New Zealand and TV3 are considering whether to appeal against rulings from the Broadcasting Standards Authority that they went too far with the screening of sexual content.

The agency says a scene involving nudity and a sex act on Hung, a late-night comedy-drama on TV One, breached standards of good taste and decency

It also ruled that a portrayal of characters kissing and removing clothing in Home & Away, a daily soap on TV3, should not have had a general classification.

The agency says some children may have been distressed by the scene, but TV3 disagrees.
