Police in Waikato are investigating how a woman suffered serious head injuries in Te Awamutu, south of Hamilton, at the weekend.
A 19-year old woman from Ngatea, on the Hauraki Plains, is in a critical condition in Waikato Hospital's intensive care unit.
Police believe she suffered her injuries at an Albert Park Rd address in the early hours of Saturday morning.
An examination of the property has been carried out.
They are interviewing people who were with the woman from Friday night through till when a call was made for an ambulance.
