A toddler died in a south Auckland driveway on Monday afternoon after being struck by a vehicle.
Police spokesperson Senior Sergeant Mat Rogers says the two-year-old boy died at the scene about 1.30pm.
Mr Rogers says it appears the toddler was outside a neighbour's driveway in the Auckland suburb of Otara.
He says emergency services are still at the scene, along with victim support.
Mr Rogers says some very upset family members and neighbours are at the home.
He says the death is a reminder of the need to take great care using driveways when young children may be about.
