An American fugitive, who is also facing charges in New Zealand, will be sent back to the United States on Saturday.
Anthony Orazio, 30, appeared in the Wellington District Court on Friday on several charges, including importing and exporting child pornography.
In an unusual move, the Crown Prosecutor, sought bail for Anthony Orazio, saying the charges he faces in the US are more serious than those he faces here.
However, Mr Orazio's lawyer argued the bail application was an abuse of process designed to facilitate his client's removal from New Zealand.
Judge David Ongley said it was not a breach of legal principles and he granted bail.
It's understood US law officers will be on hand to arrest him when he arrives in Los Angeles.
