A man has been seriously injured after a taxi drove into the dining area of a McDonalds restaurant in Wellington.
The crash, overnight on Tuesday, left a 49-year old man trapped for a short time when a counter fell on his leg.
He was freed and taken to hospital at about 2.30am.
The collision caused major damage to the restaurant, which is attached to a petrol station on Taranaki Street.
Police are investigating.
