There was an armed robbery at a Lotto shop in Mt Maunganui on Saturday afternoon.
Police say a man pointed a firearm at a woman who was working alone in the store on Central Parade.
He removed the cash register and was seen getting into a waiting car, an S type Jaguar with tinted windows and silver mag wheels.
The vehicle was later found a short distance away.
