Masterton police are looking for the driver of a white utility vehicle that crashed into the side of a moving train on Tuesday.
The crash happened at about 7.30am on a level crossing near Dalefield south of Carterton.
Police say the driver of the Wellington bound Tranz Metro train sounded the horn in warning as the ute approached.
It then skidded into the train.
Police say a bumper bar which came off in the crash had Toyota branding and the driver of the ute may be injured.
The train was delayed for 50 minutes, but Kiwi ail says no passengers were hurt and damage to the carriage was minor.
