A coroner has ruled that the media can not report details of an inquest into the death of Auckland teenager, Toran Henry.

The 17-year-old Takapuna Grammar Student, who had depression, died last year and his case attracted widespread media coverage.

An inquest began on Monday but the Coroner, Murray Jamieson, has confirmed an order made in March last year that no evidence or submissions made at the hearing can be published.

The media are able to attend the inquest but cannot report on it until Mr Jamieson reviews the order at the end of the hearing.
