Police say there has been a spate of armed robberies in Kaukapakapa, near Helensville north of Auckland, and they're worried someone may be injured if the offenders strike again.
They say the robberies all took place at shops over the weekend.
Inspector Shawn Rutene says during each of the robberies a shop owner was confronted with a weapon.
He says the robber is described as a European male about 20 years old who was accompanied by a second male aged about 18.
Inspector Rutene would not say what weapon was used or how many robberies had taken place.
He is asking anyone who knows a person matching the description and who may have been involved to contact police.
