A man died and two people were injured after a crash on the Whangaparaoa Peninsula, north of Auckland, on Sunday afternoon.
A car driven by an elderly man crossed the centre line at 2:30pm, hitting an oncoming vehicle.
The man died at the scene and two people in the oncoming vehicle were taken to hospital with critical and serious injuries.
Whangaparaoa Road was closed after the accident, but has now reopened.
