Bay of Plenty residents have a final week to air their views on a tolling proposal, which would hasten the building of a motorway bypassing Te Puke.

More than 2000 submissions have already been received regarding the $500 million Tauranga eastern link.

It's the largest roading project ever planned for Bay of Plenty and is strongly supported by big businesses which use State Highway Two.

construction could begin next year if a $2 toll is accepted by motorists.
