Two small quakes in North Island

Two quakes were recorded in the North Island on Sunday morning, GNS Science reports.

The first, at 9.10am measured 3.9 on the Richter scale and was centred 20km southwest of Wanganui at a depth of 12km.

At 9.25am, a magnitude 3.6 quake was recorded 10km southwest of Te Puke, at a depth of 150km.
