A liquor store owner is protesting restrictions on trading hours at a new premises in Karangahape Road in Auckland.
The store will be the ninth liquor outlet on Karangahape Road, where there has been opposition to more liquor premises being allowed to do business.
The Liquor Licensing Authority has approved the Emkay Trading Company's application for a licence.
But the shop must shut at 9pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and 6pm on other days.
Company director Kamlesh Lachani says the decision is unfair and puts him at a disadvantage with his competitors. He says he plans to appeal.
