A man is dead in Whangarei after a car flew across a stream and embedded itself in the opposite bank.
Emergency services attended the incident on Western Hills Drive at 3.45am on Sunday.
The driver of the car died at the scene. Three other men were taken to Whangarei hospital with moderate injuries.
